Le Meridien is a five star luxury hotel located in Kuala Lumpur. Guests usually arrive with high expectations and I must say the hotel will not let you down. Furthermore, it is situated right beside Hilton Hotel, another luxury establishment and perhaps this level of competition encourages the hotel to improve.

Le Meridien KL, is definitely one of the most conveniently located hotels that you can find in KL. It is situated at KL Sentral, right next to the train station and this allows for effortless travelling to nearby places of attractions, shopping areas and the airport. Many corporate offices such as that of Samsung, BP, HP and some others are all within a stones throw from the hotel, and guests are spoilt for choice when it comes to shopping as a short walk or train ride will take one to a shopping paradise at malls like Mid Valley Shopping Centre, Central Market and The Gardens Shopping Centre.
Being under the Starwood group, members of Starwood will get to enjoy numerous benefits throughout their stay in Le Meridien. Since I am a Starwood Gold member, I got a free upgrade from the deluxe room to the club room. The club room gives guests access to the Club Lounge, where guests can enjoy free drinks. Also, this club room upgrade also gave me free wifi in my room, which I was thankful for, as wifi is only available at the lobby and at restaurants.
The design of the room was not amazing, but it was great and was about quite the average standard for a 5 star hotel. The furbishing of the room, with the combination of some wood and the colour tone around the bed area gave it a warm cosy feel. This creates a setting which I believe most people would love to stay in.

Furthermore, the room came with a view overlooking the city, and it wasn’t fantastic, but good enough for someone that will not spend the entire day relaxing in the room. There was also a comfortable sofa chair by the window for one to sit and enjoy the scenery.
However, in my opinion this arrangement lacked just one more thing for it to be perfect – a coffee table. With a relatively great view, I believe that some guests would like to unwind by the window and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night, but there would be no proper place to place their drink, and thus the experience would not be perfect.
The room was well appointed, as it had many amenities prepared for my stay. On top of the usual like a television and cups and glasses, this room even had a coffee maker, complete with to-go cups for the coffee loving traveller or businessman who is in a rush to leave the room. Also, complimentary bottled water was provided in room, just as you would expect from a luxury hotel.

On top of that, I was pleased to find that the mini bar was adequately stocked, with a reasonable selection of juices and soft drinks, such that everyone should be able to find something that they like. However, what the mini bar lacked was a selection of tidbits and snacks, but this would not be an issue if you are staying in a club room since the club lounge serves snacks as well.
